What an exciting shift in the way people stay in hotels these days. From the more relaxed atmosphere and things down to dress code of hotels and accommodation to the ability to stay in luxury with a dog to staying in luxury even when doing outdoor pursuits.
Just because you want to do some hiking, off road driving or mountain biking doesn’t mean you want to stay in a youth hostel. Whether you’re into road biking or mountain biking, these two forms of two wheeled transport and pursuits are hot right now for those of all ages, all abilities and all budgets.
Personally I think it would be idiotic for a hotel in the heart of an activity hub not to support and not have facilities for those wishing to take part and enjoy outdoor pursuits. Take the lake District for example, the capital of walking and cycling in England.
In fact, Single Track World, the mountain bike magazine, only just recently recommended the brand new Brimstone Hotel as one that caters and welcomes mountain bikers (and as they also comment, their better halves too!). This is luxury to rival any in the UK but in the absolute heart of the Lake District. There are endless routes right from the hotel as well as the ever popular Grizedale Forest close by too. The important bits for MTB peeps, secure bike storage and a heated boot/drying room. But then on return the spa, complimentary canapés, wine and beers, choice of places to dine and even log burning stoves in the room are just the ticket after an enduring ride.
The Lake District is a destination for everyone but the luxury market has very much increased in recent years. From the likes of newly built luxury hotels to existing hotels adding luxury touches and extra, bespoke services, the Lake District is attracting the luxury traveller for home and abroad.
So thinking outside of the box and think of the Lake District for your next luxurious and adventurous holiday.
