Holidays and book reading go hand in hand. Yes, traditionally they are though associated with being by the pool or on the beach but UK holidays and short breaks still provide the chance to catch up on a good read, uninterrupted.
Baring this in mind, what could be more exciting than reading a thriller set in the location you are taking your holiday or short break? If you stay in the Lake District this is just what can happen if you read one of the Michael Wood thrillers set here, The Fell Walker and The Fell Walkers Legacy.
These two thrillers have gained great sales and also fantastic reviews on Amazon and by the press for the fast, gripping and poignant stories. And really when you think about it, the Lake District is can be very fast (adventurous), gripping (you can’t just come here once) and poignant (most definitely). This novels are holiday reads with a difference where guests may have been to the locations mentioned during their stay which are brilliantly descripted.
It’s probably not a big shock that Michael himself lives in Cumbria and last week he happened to pop into the Cuckoo Brow Inn at Far Sawrey. Being situated in the heart of the Lake District and a very firm favourite of fell walkers it seemed an ideal addition to the Lake District shop they have there. Michael very kindly left them copies of both the books in the shop for sale. Guests staying or any passing for a drink can purchase one of the books. It may be hard not to start reading the book straight away but with comfy seats, real fires, real ales and local food, why not sit back, relax and read. Rooms at the Cuckoo Brow Inn start at £77 bed & breakfast. The inn serves food daily from 12pm until 9.00pm.
